DC3 Work Space was tasked with remodelling an existing room into a Cuddle Bed Suite, a space intended to offer comfort and dignity during challenging and special times for residents and their loved ones. The existing room was outdated and unsuitable for this purpose, with poor layout, limited functionality, and visual shortcomings.
Our team worked with the staff at St Vincent's Care to design a welcoming space that felt non clinical, while being functional and accessible for the health care professionals. To address the challenges of the chosen space, the room was fully stripped back to resolve safety and compliance issues, including the safe removal and management of asbestos. The layout was redesigned to improve functionality, accessibility, and privacy, allowing the space to appropriately accommodate a cuddle bed and family use. Finishes, lighting, and fixtures were carefully selected to create a calm, non‑clinical environment, transforming the room into a warm, dignified Cuddle Bed Suite that supports comfort, connection, and care.
Our team has created a thoughtfully transformed Cuddle Bed Suite that is safe, compliant, and purpose‑built for its intended use. The once outdated room is now a warm, calm, and dignified environment that supports residents and their loved ones during emotionally significant moments, enhancing comfort, connection, and overall wellbeing. All works were completed with minimal disruption to the residents and staff.
